Breeanna scribbled in her sketchbook as she sat alone on the grass. There was a soft breeze that wafted past as she sat near the school building. The wind flitted through her dark hair, making the black smoke that surrounded it vanish for a few moments. Breeanna had always been an outcast, from her smokey hair to her deep, coal-black eyes. But this time, she had decided not to let it bother her. Every time she had tried to make friends, it had always come back to bite her. So this time, at this new school, she would try to be happy as an outcast, try to get by without any friends. On a whim, she looked up at a small group of people not far away. They looked like they were having fun, enjoying each other's company. The vision of their friendship with each other made her stomach lurch with jealosy. She looked back down at her book. She frowned and flipped over to a new page and began writing.
Oh how I long for people who won't condemn me! Oh how I long for people who won't attack me. When will there be people like me? Why are there no people who understand what I am, who I am...
Underneath her words of longing, she began to draw; an image of herself in the center, and then a group of others around her...
The friends she wished she had.

Tyrael was having a friendly chat with some of the girls from this school. He wasn't enrolled or anything yet, but he wanted to be, so he was trying to make friends here before he actually decided to get involved with this whole 'school' thing. Luckily, or unluckily depending on your point of view, most of the girls seemed very eager to be friends with him.
He had just laughed at something strange one of the girls said when he noticed one girl who was sitting all alone. She looked sad and lonely, and Tyrael didn't like that. Izual had told him to wait right where he was, but the girl wasn't really that far away, so Izual would have absolutely no trouble finding him when the other half-demon finally came back. "Excuse me girls," the half-angel said and began a slow trot towards the lone girl. Behind him he heard strange whispers, but he couldn't make out the words and wouldn't have understood half of them anyway.
The girl seemed so absorbed in her work as he approached, he thought maybe she was sitting alone because she actually had work to do. Maybe this was something she was doing for school. The other girls had a 'line off' or something, so they didn't have to do work now, but everyone else who was still in class did. The half-angel crouched down in front of the girl and crossed his arms over his knees.
"Hi..." He spoke with a soft, sweet voice, definitely one that could be attributed to an angel.

Breeanna looked up at the person in front of her. "Hi..." She said back. She glanced down at her paper and noticed that one of the characters that she had drawn looked a lot like this person. I must have been looking at him when I drew it... She thought to herself. After a breif moment of silent contmplation, Breeanna realised that he was still sitting near her. "Uh... Can I help you?" She asked. It was unusual for people to talk to her, unless of course they wanted something or were teasing her. She prayed that that wasn't what he intended to do; she had had more than enought of that.

Tyrael moved to sit next to her, looking down at the book in her hands. "No, I was just wondering what you were doing all by yourself." There was nothing in his voice but curiosity and, was it... sympathy? Tyrael knew he hated being alone, especially at night. Having company always lifted his spirits, so here he was to lift hers.
"Is this for a class?... It looks great." He said happily, smiling at the girl and hoping to encourage her to trust him. Sometimes people didn't find it easy to trust others and, while he didn't understand it, Tyrael knew it all too well.

Breeanna snapped the book shut rather abruptly and hugged it in a protective way. "N-No.... Its just my drawing book." She said quietly. A million thoughts were rushing through her mind. Who is this guy? Was one.
What does he want? Was another.
Is... is he acutually being nice to me?
She looked at him with an unsure expression on her face. "So, um... do you go to this school?" She asked, trying to be friendly but trying to stay distant at the same time.

He was rather surprised when she snappe the book shut and held it close, but he decided it must've been something private, so he wouldn't pry. "No, but I will soon. I was just getting to know people and stuff... Is it nice here?" He'd asked a few people the same question and received very mixed answers. Some gave him odd looks, some said it was good, others said it was great but with a sarcastic tone, some openly said that they hated it here. Tyrael wasn't really sure what to believe. One girl had told him they'd strap him to a chair, stick things in his ears and make him eat toxic waste of he joined this school... But that was just weird... and icky.

"Oh my god, look at the bags under your eyes. God, and you fell asleep in 2nd period! What's with you, Bunny!?" Kayce exclaimed, hugging one of her best friends. They four of them sat at a table outside, all of them dressed in cheerleading putfits instead of the set school uniform because of the Friday. The captain of the team, Jen, looked like she was about to pass out as she sat there, slumped over on the bench of the table.
"I haven't been getting much sleep lately, that's all." she answered honestly, except for the last part. That wasn't the only thing making her tired. Slowly, she stood from the table and yawned, stretching her arms. "But I need to go find Liz and tell her our new routine plans." she said and left the table, stumbling a little as she walked. The other three girls just sat there, watching her leave, then they sighed.
Ed looked down and cupped her forehead in her hand. "Poor girl..." she mumbled, then looked up to the others. "Her Daddy was supposed to come home for the weekend, but he never showed up at the train station. She said she got a letter from him and he poured sweat and blood into making sure he would get home soon. It sounds like his business job is so tough..."
"And I don't think that new boyfriend is good for her either." Rachel added. "He's a little scary and creeps me out for some reason. I don't know why, but I get an evil vibe from him."
"Oh yeah, Rach, Jen's dating some demon boy." Kayce laughed and rolled her eyes, but they didn't know how right she was.
Jen stumbled a little on the grass, then yawned and rubbed her eyes to get a clear vision. She hadn't slept all night, Izual keeping her up and her worrying about Daddy. But it was mostly Izual's fault. Then Tyrael always seemed to need extra attention. But the thing that scared her most was if Daddy ever found out the boys were half angel. He would kill them, right on the spot, or worse, make her kill them. It made her want to cry. But she managed to just look tired as her eyes scanned the area for a redheaded cheerleader. Instead, they landed upon a boy in tight clothing who appeared to be talking to the grass. This sobered her up completely, and she sped up ehr walking to get over to him faster.
"Hey, Tyrael, what are you...." her words drifted off as she looked to see the girl beside him. She was tired, so it took her a bit to process things. Then, the captain of the cheerleading squad dropped down to her knees and immediately rested her tired her against Tyrael's arm. Her long white pigtails almost touched the tips of the grass. "You really need to stop walking aimlessly around the school grounds gfindign random innocent women to harass." She joked, then tiredly looked to Bree. Chills went down her spine as her crystal eyes were set upon the girl, then she smiled. "Hi." she said with as much cheer as possible, yet it still sounded so dull with her lack of sleep.

"What? I'm not harrassing women... I've never harrassed anyone in my life. Izual does all the harrassing." Tyrael said indignantly and stuck his tongue out at the girl, but his arm came around her and tugged her close to his body as she leant against him. He was a natural comforter, and he knew all about Jen's lack of sleep lately, or at least that's what he thought. He looked back to Bree and thought to introduce the two girls.
"Jen, this is..." Realising he didn't know her name yet, he coughed to hide his embarrassment and tried starting again. "I'm Tyrael, what's your name?" He asked with a cheerful smile.

Breeanna smiled. "I'm Breeanna... But you can call me Bree if you want." She said quietly. She looked up at Tyrael. "I really couldn't tell you how this school is; I just started here myself. I change schools a lot..." Bree trailed off and sadly looked at the grass in front of her. Snapping out of her momentary depression, Bree looked past Tyrael to look at Jen. "Are you okay? You look totally wiped out." The second after she said it she wondered why she cared. It wasn't like she knew this girl well enough yet. She mentally shook it off and smiled, trying to be polite.

"Hello Bree, I'm Jen." she mumbled and snuggled against Tyrael as he pulled her close. For a second, her mind drifted out of reality and she nearly passed out, but then her eyes opened once more and she almost laughed at Bree's statement.
Thinking over the words, she snuggled closer to Tyrael. "It's been a long time since I've had a good night's sleep." She answered, her leg curling up beneath her.

"Jen, Bree. Jee, Bren." Tyrael finished with a grin, then realised he'd gotten names mixed. "Uh, I mean, Bree, Jen..." He said with a small chuckle.
"Why do you change schools a lot? Are they no good?" He asked, cocking his head to the side and resting it on top of Jen's as she snuggled close to him. He liked having such close and affectionate contact with people, it was... heart-warming, for lack of a better word.

Bree scoffed without realising she had done it. "It's not that the schools are no good," she said, the echo in her voice getting stronger as she spoke. "I could have gotten a perfectly good education at that two dollar school down the road from my house, but the people there decided that I was good to pick on. I've moved schools so many times because of people attacking me, that its driving me crazy!" Bree let out a low hiss and she slapped her drawing book onto the grass beside her.

Tyrael blinked at the girl, at a loss for words. He hadn't expected her to get angry from a simple question. "Um... Sorry. I didn't mean to... bring up bad memories or anything..." He looked away from the girl, looking down at the demoness leaning against his chest.
"So have you been to many different schools, Jen?" He may have been trying to avoid Bree's temper, but he was still horribly curious. He just couldn't help it. He didn't like being ignorant of what other people so plainly talked about in front of him, but Izual always told him it was for the best... though he wasn't sure whether to believe it or not.

"Well maybe if morals-" Jen began tiredly, but cut herself off and burried her face against Tyrael's chest, trying to cover for her slip-up. There was no way this girl Bree could be human. She had a demonic aura, and her appearance gave away much. She bit her bottom lip, hoping Bree had not caught her words. She couldn't openly let people know that she was a demon. It would ruin her life.
"I've only been to this one." Jen answered Tyrael. "I love this school. I'm head cheerleader, and if I went to any other school, I wouldn't have my friends."

"What if they went with you?" Tyrael asked a jovial smile. He looked to Bree and took a moment to look her over entirely. It was then he noticed her odd hair, with the black smokey substance rising just a few inches before it disappeared into the air completely. What could be causing that? He was sure it wasn't something any mortal should have, so he considered the fact she might be a demon.
Tyrael's mother had explained to both him and his brother about all the different kinds of angels. She herself was one of the Principalities. They weren't very high on the Angel Hierarchy, but that suited her just fine. She'd never actually wanted more than she had, but it still came to her of course. Going over the descriptions of each type of angel in his head, Tyrael decided there was no chance this girl was any of them. But she wasn't mortal, that's for sure.
