Jen smiled as they followed her, but felt a bit of sadness about Izual. He seemed so cold and distant all of a sudden. They made it to the bottom of the stairs and she began to lead them to the dining room. At Tyrael's question, she sniffed the air. "Roast beef... mashed potatoes.... green beans... and gravy!" she smiled happily. That demon nose of hers was better than that of a dog.
The dining room was more amazing than the foyer. A crystal chandaleer hung above a table that probably could ahve seated a dozen people. The table settings were fine china and crystal wine glasses. The silverware was real silver and there was a fork for everything. Jen had grown up with this lifestyle, but she still thought it was much too fancy for regular meals. Five places were set on the table, one at each head, two on the right, and one on the left. The one furthest into the dining room at the head had the fanciest set, and one of the wine glases was filled with a thick red liquid... blood. The food was all set out on the table, everything looking so formal and delicious.
"Yay! I was right!" Jen giggled happily and sat down at the less fancy head of the table, motioning for the two boys to sit to the right. Her eyes looked over the unlit candles on the table, then they traveled to the kitchen door. No doubt Mother would be surprised to see the guests.

Tyrael stood admiring the room for a second, an awed "Woooaahh!" coming from his lips in 'fine appreciation' of the setting. Izual brushed right past him and sat down in the first chair available, that being the one closer to Jen. Tyrael sat down and blinked at the amount of different forks sitting on the table in front of him.
Izual was inspecting the place setting at the other end of the table. He could smell the blood easily, and he wondered for a moment what it would actually taste like. Tyrael was playing with one of the smaller forks, turning it around in his hand with fascination etched on his face. Izual looked to his brother and rolled his eyes, landing his gaze on Jen and once again looking over her body.

This time, Jen didn't notice that Izual was looking over her body again. She was glad he had chosen to sit closest to her, though. Then the woman known as Mother walked out holding a pitcher of water. She was a very quaint looking woman, wearing a blue sweater and jeans. Her hair was brunette and kept back in a bun, streaks of grey from her age showing through. Her face was a little worn and wrinkled, but looked kind. There were signs of bags under her eyes from having to deal with Jen and Daddy all these year, though.
"Oh... why hello." she blinked, looking at the two men as she poured water into their wine glasses after Jen. After she had poured her own, she sat, giving Jen an uneasy look for a moment.
"Mother, this is Izual and Tyrael." the girl introduced them, motioning to each boy. It was rude to point. "They came to give me a message from Daddy."

"Hello." Tyrael said with a cheerful smile and a small wave, about to say more before hie brother nudged him under the table. Izual stayed silent, but inclined his head to the woman in greeting.
Tyrael seemed a little impatient, unable to decided whether to just sit and twiddle his thumbs or look at everything in the room. Izual gave him a frustrated look, one that Tyrael didn't see, but didn't say a word even as Tyrael went back to playing with a fork. At least he wasn't babbling about being half-angel.

Mother smiled to Tyrael but felt a little uneasy about Izual. Jen reched out for something on the table, but yelping a little in pain when her foot was stepped on. "What was that for?" she grumbled to the woman beside her.
"You pray before dinner when Daddy's friend are over." the woman hissed, making the young girl groan. She had forgotten completely about that. The strange thing was, the setting with the blood was still left empty.
After sighing once more and giving a pout to the two boys, Jen closed her eyes and made a strange symbol with ehr right hand, placing it in front of her face. She began to speak in another language, the words flowing out in an eerie way. It was some ancient form of Latin, and it almost always gave Jen goosebumps. But not tonight. Finally, she ended the 'prayer' and the candles on the table suddenly egnited with flames. She opened her eyes and looked to the woman. "Now can we eat?" she whined and got a nod in response. Immediately, Jen had a plate full of roast beef and was spooning on green beans.

Tyrael smiled when the candles lit themselves. Like magic! He thought to himself, missing the absolute irony of it as he marvelled at the magic of the self-lighting candles. Loading some mashed potatoes onto his plate, Tyrael realised the roast beef was out of his reach. Of course, it would be rude to just lean across the table and grab it.
"Izual, could you pass me the meat, please?" He asked politely, smiling genuinely at his brother. For a moment Izual just looked at him like he was an idiot.
"What am I, your servant?" He retorted, then finally relented when Tyrael went to sadly staring into his lap and fidgeting with his hands in small gestures. Grumbling something about gold, Izual took some of the roast beef and put it on Tyrael's plate. His brother saw the meat on his plate now and silently reached for the gravy boat.
"What, no 'thank you'?" Izual said and his brother flinched, his hand immediately retreating to his lap and his head bowed again.
"I'm sorry. Thank you, Izual." He just about whimpered the words before once again reaching for the gravy. His cheerful smile long gone now, he slowly started eating in silence, his eyes only on the plate of food while his brother watched him with narrowed eyes.

Jen wished that Tyrael was the one who sat next to her now, because he was far from being the persona of one of Daddy's friend, and she could tell Mother was catching on. Slowly, she leaned over to the woman and whispered, "He's a soul-sucker from the realm of sorrow." she lied and the woman fell for it hook line and sinker. Izual, on the other hand, was playing the part all too well.
The young girl reached for the spoon to the mashed potatoes, but her hand was immediately slapped away. "No one wants a chubby cheerleader!" Mother warned and got a low growl from Jen. "And certainly not a porky prom queen!" Jen was now clenching her fists and snarling her nose a little. Mother was set on putting her on the low carb diet. And the girl was blushing from those terms used in front of Izual. With her anger, the candles were now melting down at an extreme rate with flames three inches high.
Finally, Jen calmed herself and sighed, the flames going back to their normal pace. "Yes mother..." she mumbled and went on eating her meat as a strange scent filled the air.
"Oh my! I think I left one of the stove burners on!" Mother gasped and got up to rush into the kitchen.
Jen gave a small chuckle and reached to pile some mashed potatoes onto her plate, the poured gravy atop them. Once again, though, she found herself blushing abotu Izual being there for this. "You can never seperate a teenage girl from her carbs." she pleaded innocently.

Izual raised an eyebrow at the odd terms 'mother' was using, especially the alliteration in each of them. Tyrael almost giggled, but kept himself silent in case his brother got annoyed again. He still had a cheeky smile on his lips though.
"If he's a soul-sucker, I'm an earthworm." Izual said after mother had dashed from the room, nodding in Tyrael's direction as he spoke.
"A what-sucker?" Tyrael asked innocently, having joined the conversation late as usual. Izual was tempted to call him something quite rude, but that would be inappropriate at the dinner table.

Jen swallowed a big spoonful of potatoes then giggled a little. "We just have to make this seem real, or else Mother will find out what you guys are and... and I don't even want to know what..." she was whispering the entire time as if something was listening in on them. She was always a little paranoid in the dining room with the place setting across from her like that. At the table, Jen always sat at one head and Daddy sat at the other when he was around.
The girl then pouted, moving the potatoes around a little on her plate. "I just hope I didn't set anything major on fire in there..."
Just at that instant, a loud yelling of, "JENNIFER MARIE WEST!" was heard from the kitchen.

"Eep!" Tyrael cried out and just about tried to duck under the table.
"It sounds as though you did indeed set something major on fire." Izual said calmly, watching the door to the kitchen and waiting for the enraged woman Jen called Mother to come through it again. Tyrael looked like he'd frozen in his seat, staring almost petrified at the same spot Izual was looking at.

Jen cringed at the yell and was about the stand, smelling all the smoke now, but then she gave a grin. "Just impressing Daddy's friends, dear Mother." She called back and took a bite of her roast beef.
About five minutes later, Mother came back out looking like she was going to explode, a bit of soot on her face. Grumbling to herself, she grabbed her plate and dissappeared into the kitchen once more. "Well... I'm happy now...." Jen chuckled, finishing up her food.

Tyrael finished his food too, while Izual still hadn't even touched his plate at all. As he saw they had both finished Izual looked to Jen, wondering if they were expected to do anything more before they could leave the table. Tyrael was smiling at Jen cheerfully once again. It seemed it was a little hard to keep this boy down for long.
"Thanks for letting us have dinner with you." He said politely, sounding like a little kid as seemed normal for him.

Jen smiled. "You're very welcome." She said, then looked to Izual and pouted. He seemed so down still, so angry at the world. His eyes were so deep and twisted around a soul that she could barely find. She wanted to feel his soul, though. She wanted to get to know this complicated man.
"Izual... you haven't touched your food..." she said softly, looking directly into his eyes. "Is everything all right?" The girl nervously fidgeted in her chair, and brought up her fingers to a button on her blouse, messing with it absently.

"I'm not hungry, thank you." He responded almost curtly. "Are we free to leave the table now?" He asked, sounding impatient. Tyrael looked at his brother for a moment, blinking in confusion, but then he thought of something.
"Do we get a room or are we sleeping in yours?" The half-angel asked as he turned his gaze to Jen.

Jen was about to get up, but then she found herself blushing at Tyrael's question. Her sudden blush made her forget what her hands were doing, leaving the first button on her top open. "You can each have your own rooms." she smiled, even though she wouldn't mind if Izual wanted to sleep in hers. No! That was a bad thought! He was part angel... it could never work!
The girl stood from the table and motioned for the other two boys to do the same, the candles automatically going out. Then she began to walk out of the dining room toward the stairs.
